Knowing how rare it is to see a legendary, even with such boosted chance, would it make sense to draw a conclusion after just one terra kill? Without knowing how big the baseline chance is, even boosting it by 10000 times (which I really doubt a number high as that would go unchecked programmatically in code) would surely require more than one sample to verify/disprove underlying assumption. For example, that 500% boosted number simply means that you are 5 times likely to get a legendary over not having the item equipped. Provided that P is exceedingly small (which it ought to be), 8 runs is simply not an acceptable number of samples to draw any conclusion. That 5% boost should mean that the overall chance of getting a legendary would be P*1.05. If it were just 5% addition on the normal chance of getting legendary (let's call this probability P), then what you're essentially implying is that just with this boost alone, you'll see (on average) a legendary in every 20 loot, which is clearly not true. I think "5% boost" is being misinterpreted here.
They found no such increase in orange loot. The difference between his info and my info as that he looks at what people have ( said they) looted whereas the info I've seen actually looked at the mechanics of the game and changed it so the vault hunters relic increased chances by a huge number (I.e 1000% rather than 5%). Personally I still think the guy it linked to seems biased but that's just my opinion. I think someone has linked it but I've seen a lot of different people speaking about it in different gaming forums (gearbox forums and gamingfaq I think). For those asking for my sauce, I do not have it. So if you're trying to find legendaries, it's probably worth changing to a relic that gives you 35% more health for example.ĮDIT: seems I am wrong!
